Thank You, Archie Green

Appalshop expresses its appreciation for the life and work of Archie Green, who died at 91 on March 22. Beyond his own scholarship, Archie inspired generations of scholars and culture workers and was truly America’s first traditional arts lobbyist. As with so many others, whenever Appalshop artists needed encouragement, direction, inspiration, and friendship, Archie was there for us.

Appalshop particularly appreciates Archie’s assistance with Mimi Pickering’s 1988 film, Dreadful Memories: The Life of Sarah Ogun Gunning.
