MULTICAL

Download MultiCal

Registration

MultiCal installation package may be downloaded after registration. A Gmail address is required to download the software and keep updated on new versions. After registration, you will receive an email which will provide you with the access to the software repository. The stable version setup (MultiCal_X.Y.Z.msi) package will be immediately visible; previous versions can be found in old versions folder, while development versions can be found in experimental versions folder. Should you experience any problems with the official version, try the last, unreleased version, or contact multical.software@gmail.com.

Pre-requisites

  • MultiCal requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5. It is already installed in the most recent versions of Microsoft Windows; if not, it may be freely downloaded at this address.
  • MultiCal requires OpenSees to calibrate the models implemented on that code.  Opensees can be freely downloaded at this address, after registration to the site, and can be installed independently from MultiCal.
  • MultiCal requires SeismoStruct 2016 to calibrate the models implemented on that code.  SeismoStruct 2016 can be freely downloaded at this address and can be installed independently from MultiCal. License activation is required to run the graphical interface.
  • MultiCal makes use of library Meta.Numerics for vector algebra. The DLL library is already included in MultiCal setup package.

The software has been tested on Opensees version 2.5.0, and SeismoStruct 2016 Release 6. It DOES NOT work with previous versions of SeismoStruct due to some bugs in writing the results.

A text editor is required to work on input files. Microsoft Notepad would suffice for simple tasks, but it is suggested to use a more advanced text editor as Scite or Notepad++.

Installing MultiCal

UNINSTALL ANY MultiCal VERSIONS BEFORE INSTALLING A NEW ONE. Afterwards, launch the installer and follow the instructions. After accepting the License Agreement, you will be asked the installation folder and the features to install (Solver, Documentation, etc.). You can leave the default folder C:\Program Files (x86)\MultiCal\ or you can select a different folder by clicking on Browse. Afterwards, click on Next and go on until the end of the installation.

At the end of the installation, you will be asked the folders where the OpenSees and SeismoStruct are installed. By default, the program assumes that OpenSees is located at C:\Program Files\OpenSees2.5.0-x64\ and SeismoStruct is located at C:\Program Files(x86)\SeismoSoft\SeismoStruct\2016\. If one or both software packages are not installed yet, click on Cancel. These folders can be set in any moment after installation by running MultiCal.exe with administrator privileges (right-click on the file and "Run as administrator). MultiCal.exe is located in the installation folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\MultiCal\ by default).
If the installation has gone well, you should find a shortcut to MultiCal on your desktop as well as a folder in the Program Menu, where you can access both the program and the documentation.
