RESEARCH PROJECTS
- Antineoplastic potential of naturally occurring compounds.
- Characterization of tumour cell growth inhibition activity (cell death-promoting activity and/or cell cycle impairment);
- Identification of molecular target(s)/pathway(s)
- Effects on cell redox homeostasis
- Effects on tumour growth in animal models
- Characterization of metabolic transformations by Drug-Metabolizing Enzyme System (i.e. CYPs )
2. Survival role of BAG3 protein in "high risk" HPV (human papilloma virus)-infected carcinoma cells.
- Effects of BAG3 silencing on: i) cell cycle progression and apoptosis; ii) oncoprotein E6 levels and downstream-signalling pathways; iii) susceptibility to chemotherapeutics.
- Characterization of BAG3-E6 interactions.
3. Expression and anti-apoptotic role of BAG3 protein in BPV (equine/bovine papilloma virus) infected equine cells.
